That Defense is called Pekka Rinne. Look at the amount of shots he has to face every game and tell me our defense is awesome. It's not. Rinne shuts the opposition down despite our defense most of the time. I will say that the defense was pretty solid against the Flyers despite the 38 SOG, but still, the Preds rely on Pekka to save the day quite often.

As for Lindback, he's a solid backup and I have no problems seeing him inserted into the starting lineup. In fact, I wish Trotz would do it more often and give Pekka a break.

I think it'll be a good, close game. The outcome either way won't surprise me.

I will be taping the game since I have to work so by 1 I will nto be on here since I dont want to know the score. It seems the Islanders are playing with some passion and hope that continues today. Little by little we are moving up in the standings. I hope it continues and no disappointments. Poulin today maybe???

Looking forward to today's game.

I didn't even realize they played today @ 1pm.

Lucky I have a light workload today....

Any word on the Ricky D retirement plans.... or does he wait until the offseason to officailly call it quits.

I think this is it for him.

Time to move on... give him a job in the organization.

For once I could not agree more even though I thought he said he can still come back to playing and will work hard to do that

another year of this hell. I mean enough is enough. He is never ready for training camp and then he is hurt within a month it is a broken record for him. I do not want to carry 3 goalies again next year but it seems like we will have no choice until DP is gone

I think he waits until the season is over. I think by disclosing the knee swelling the Islanders are planting the seeds for an insurance settlement this summer.

That would be great. I'm not sure how he can keep playing with all these injuries and especially the continued problems with the knee swelling. To me the Isles should have an open and shut case for an issuance settlement.

I've always wished he could turn it around and stay healthy. Not just for the Isles but for him. He has had so much bad luck over the years and everyone dumps on him like he means to be hurt. Others dump on wang , myself included, but had rick been healthy he would have been a steal for the salary he was locked in at.
Now I will be bashed by the board...can't wait!!!!

That's the only reason I can see for disclosing the knee swelling. They had no obligation to do so, they could've just said he's out with the sports hernia. DiPietro's comments don't really mean much, he's going to say that regardless of the injury.

Apparently Rolston has been demoted to the third line, Grabner moves up to his spot. I have a feeling he'll be on the fourth line soon, the last two games have been the best of the season for Nino, if he continues to play like that, he'll be on the third line in no time. I also wouldn't be surprised if Rolston is gone soon, from what I've read they don't expect Ullstrom to be in Bridgeport very long.

You have to give him credit for trying to get healthy and play. But after a while it has to take a toll on you mentally.

When your rehabbing, you need a goal, and to stay positive.

I just can't imagine him wanting to try it again.

His knees, and hips are shot. He has a hard time going from post to post.

It's time for him to admit he is done!!!

You make good points. I wish the Isles were quicker in making these Rolston moves. Isles always seem to wait for the wheels to come off before doing something. It's one thing to be patient with young talent it's another thing to be patient with washed up vets.

When Ullstrom returns it will be Wallace not Rolston who goes. Garth probably doesn't even realize that he can waive Rolston and still have it count against the cap

Yet another example of why our coach is a moron. Rolston is on an 8 goal pace for the season and he's still not on the fourth line

Isles have to understand the season starts in October not when your already behind multiple teams for a playoff spot.
